The slap and bump is undertaken by many at the start of a roll as a sign of respect as you enter what other martial arts would call a spar. 

As a dad, I noticed other dads greeting their children with a high five or using this as a well done. As a Jiu Jitsu dad, I started doing a slap and bump with my then 3-year-old and slap and bump Jiu Jitsu was born. 

My name is Callum, a former Royal Marines Commando and I am a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. My logo signifies the Jiu Jitsu journey starting in the centre with the white belt, spiralling through blue, purple, brown to the black belt. You will notice that where the white belt starts and the black belt ends is on the same line depicting the never-ending path you walk as a Jiu Jitsu practitioner.

My company is, although in its infancy, a Jiu Jitsu clothing brand. If you’d like to support someone from the community and not some Internet company who just bangs a logo on a t shirt and doesn’t care about the community, I am on instagram and Facebook.  Join me on my journey
